The 12 final pictures - Evolution in relationship between two seagulls

FINAL PIECE OF WORK

Evolution of the relationship between two seagulls.

This is a fun-made video I did with the 12 final pictures as a slide show for my project, that I am using for the Evolution exhibition in university.
And this is a link, where I have uploaded this video to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6ggf6sVejg

Inspiration for making this project was my love for animals. The idea of the project was born in the spur of the moment by mere coincidence or maybe fate. Enjoy! :)

My second idea was changing my subject to flowers. Portraying again with photography how from their natural habitat they are taken for decoration and look pretty and then wither.

I selected particularly daffodils because they were everywhere at the time i changed chose this idea. But unfortunately because of the hailstorm, there were nowhere to find. So I changed my flower, leading me to buy a flower, plant it and start picturing it:

But suddenly, in all the peace and quiet of photographing I was having, a pair of seagulls appeared and started mating so close, in front of my very eyes, so I could not resist to not take a picture and did a couple of shots.

Afterwards I thought it would be an amazing idea, to put these images within my project. So that I can portrayed the evolution in relationship between seagulls. So next day as it was bright and shiny I went with the camera to the hoe and fallowed wherever the seagulls were flying to picture them. As I had a little storyline build up in my mind, I needed to have pictures of them flying.
Starting with a female and a male seagull flying and then meeting their ways and then the male chasing the female one, after that landing and there I would insert the brilliant shots I got from the previous day - them mating, and afterwards I needed a shot of them flying separate ways. Because relationships are like that, you meet someone and then if it does not work out you go your separate ways. For seagulls it is known that they are monogamous, but there are these rare cases where they are not. I want to show with my image, how birds such as these have got no care in the world and mate wherever not bothered by anyone, for the sake of their only objective, which is reproducing. It is just that simple.

In the end, after of around 3 hours of fallowing and picturing them, I ended up having around 360 photographs. Afterwards it was a tough decision to choose my final images. But I eventually did.

WORKBOOK FOR MODULE 117 EVOLUTION PROJECT

My first idea for an Evolution project was at first picturing people and them growing in age. To say a profile picture doing an activity which is appropriate for that age. A baby sleeping, then a preschool girl jumping rope, then a high school girl studying, then a college girl out having fun then a university student doing her project, then an older woman working then a grandma sight seeing. But as I started to realise the project I found it hard to get people involved and was dined a lot of times.

Making the presentation

We made the presentation. It includes the content, our previous idea and also our new idea. We made 13 slides. Presentation went well, all of us got to present the website. Keeping it simple worked really well for us. We will include the buttons, which are linked to the facebook,  twitter and flickr feel good sites. This blog has been really helpful documenting the taken steps towards finishing our project. And all these notes, now I can use in writing the 1000 words set critical evaluation.

Changing the idea

New Plan of action is taken

Seems, we need to cut off the images and doodles from the given pdf file and also use specific colours and type of writing according to the regulations. With that, our whole idea changes. The yoga idea is a failure. So sticking with the regulations, and changing the idea, to Marry Poppins parody on "a spoonful of sugar" basically making it negative, saying sugar is bad.

And also adding a Page motivating you to drink this particular brand of drink.

YOU WANT A SPOONFUL OF GOODNESS,
NOT SUGAR.

We Also inserted in the start an about page and in the end a contact us page. Every page has a arrowed button for returning to homepage, from which you can choose on where to go, by the inserted buttons, acting as a content page.

Website for Feel Good Drinks Co

We made page 2 and 3 of our website.

Page 2
ABOUT FEEL GOOD DRINKS CO

Starting with the headline and beneath it a motto provided from the site itself, saying "Hoping to bring the world gorgeous, fruity soft drinks that are packed full of natural good stuff and to have some fun!" Entered information, consisting of what the drink contains. Decided for a background to make it playful and happy, so we put some vector images of stars and dots all around the page. A rainbow and beneath it, the logo of the company.

Page 3

TODAYS POSITION

We inserted the company's logo. Inserted a friendly greeting and also provided an image with a description on how to do the yoga pose, that is selected by pushing the button on the home page. As a background we inserted some vector images of clouds and sparkling stars. Om the bottom we have inserted other yoga pose images,  that in future might modify the site and make each image active and redirect you to another page where the same greeting with a specific description on how it affects your body and directions on how you can do it.

Overall, we decided to link feel good drinks with yoga, and make an idea in this way for the site. So in this way we advertise the company, but also give tips with yoga to present a message that with the drinks they can stay healthy and with yoga they can exercise  and live all through a healthy life.  In a way, presenting a message, saying that our customers health being is our main priority.

Setting a design for the blog

We start by creating an idea, related to the logo. The logo's figure reminds me of a person standing in a yoga pose. As I have done yoga, I know that yoga is good for your well being and keeping a healthy body and makes living life more peaceful and full of joy. The slogan "feel good drinks" also reminds of what yoga represents. Yoga is suited for all ages and types of people. as is feel good drinks. With making these relations, I want to include images that support the idea.  These images, represent poses and ideas of the way we are going to present the design of the site with my group. We would use us posing in this kind of positions.

As a background we are thinking to put an image that
changes as the day goes. For example if it is day time, we would have an image that is with the sunrise in the beginning of the day and around lunchtime changing into a day one and then at night around 18:00 going to a sunset and then to a dark night picture around 21:00. And in these images we would insert the logo next to the person doing the yoga pose or on him. The images would take part in front of the sea. Something like this:

We are also thinking of making a gallery which would go as a slide beneath the sign on the homepage, and from there when you click, you would be redirected to another page containing the images, which represent yoga poses. And also of actual pictures, with people doing yoga poses, with information provided how it stimulates your body part or organ it helps for.

We would also have something like a lucky charm application. Where you click and have your lucky slogan for the day, which might be related to health, interesting information about fruits,  a wise thought or it may be also combined with a picture representing your lucky yoga pose for you to do.
